I have been tagged once again by TheLostGirl21
For this I will use Lexine Hawke (rogue|Assassin/Duelist), the first Hawke I made for DA2
Ten Unnecessary Things
1. Lexine Hawke learn her skills from a passing rogue by the name of Daveth (yes, Orgins' Daveth), who was on his way to Denerim. He left once she learned the basic skills of a thief. She practiced her skills at home, not really eager to get caught and arrested. So in this time her family (especially her siblings) were the victims of her quick fingers. It was a rather trying time. She at one point placed a damp rag in Carver's pants' pocket and then asked him why their was a dead mouse in his pants.
2. Before Ostagar, Lex made most of her money by the way of scamming passing nobles and gambling. And by gambling, I mean cheating. She knew when to win and when to lose, to keep her charade. And by the end of the day, she leaves the tavern with more gold than she came in with. No one had ever caught on to her, at least until Varric and Isabela.
3. She did not put much thought in Isabela offered of giving her a place on her ship. Lexine is not initially interested in it, until she learned on a later date that the mage underground had been destroyed, with the few who survived the templar raid leaving Kirkwall. It was only after did she seriously consider Isabela's offer.
4. She detest people who ask her to make important decision for them. Because she knows when something goes wrong, she'll be the one they'll blame. But she doesn't mind if it's advice. This however does not mean she and Sebastian didn't get along, after the first time he asked. She figured she'd just say, "Just do what you want. Just know that someone might punch you in the face for it." which is her creed in life actually.
5. Lexine found Anders and Justice fascinating, like a shiny glowy enchanted jewel to poke at until she uncovered all it's secrets or learn how much it was worth.
When Bethany was caught by the Templar, Lex started prodding Anders for a different reason. She had frequently asked him to get letters and small packages (from Bethany's favorite sweets to books) to Bethany. But eventually she stopped hanging around the clinic just to guilt trip Anders to help her with Bethany, and started simply staying for him.
6. Her relationship with Anders is the first serious relationship she has ever been in, before she considered anything beyond friendship too much of a bother. It wasn't something she felt was worth the effort to keep and have. And she enjoyed life like that, she practically had no drama in her personal life not she needed extra drama considering her family supplied enough to make up for it.
But after two years around Anders, she deemed him worth the trouble and couldn't possibly end well (and her prediction came true). And she knew he would be a lot of trouble, seeing as the man is possessed apostate and a member of the underground. Which is why she keep a few bags packed and ready, when (not if) it was time to start running again.
7. While she wouldn't admit it. Fenris reminds her of Carver, always scowling and complaining about magic (while Carver didn't complain about it as much as Fenris did and it was usually in jest). When Fenris' greatsword was lost in a fight, she gave him Carver's greatsword which she had kept as a memento.
8. When the endgame came and she had to choose between Anders and Sebastian. She was insulted that Sebastian would even ask her to kill Anders, considering he had known her for years. She had thought Sebastian would have known she wouldn't do it. She was after all in the Red Irons, where she learned how to be an assassin. And she was a damn good one. She is no saint, she's killed her fair share of people and she wasn't going to pretend that every one of them (except the slavers) deserved it.
She knows she's killed some good templars (who were only doing what they thought was for the best.), mages (who only wanted to be free.), and raiders/thieves (who could have been victims of circumstance.) So there was no sting of betray, only surprise. Don't mistake she is angry with Anders just not for the destruction of the Chantry. But for deciding to scarifice his safety for his cause.
9. Without telling Anders, Lex painted the Amell crest on his armband (I requested a retex of this in nexus, so it is canon. Okay, maybe not). She also fancies herself as Anders' rogue knight in shining armor. She frequently teases him, calling various embarrassing nicknames as an end result, make no mistake however Lex knows Anders can hold his own. She just like making him all flustered and pouty.
10. One drunken night Lexine confessed to Isabela that she read has read some of the woman's friend fiction particularly the ones with Anders. Eventually the two started writing together, some time down the line however Lex admitts, she was a bit a vogyer and that the idea of Fenris bedding Anders was arousing. Now Isabela has been trying to get her to agree to let Fenris sleep with Anders. Lex eventually gets Isabela to leave her alone by telling her that, if she can get Fenris to agree to the idea of bedding Anders. Lexine would talk to Anders about it. Lex is confident Fenris will never agree.
Questions
1. How did the Warden/Champion name his/her dog?
She named her mabari Daveth after her mentor, she is a bit sentimental.
2. If he/she could, would the Warden/Champion consider dating Oghren/Varric?
Well, Lex is willing to try anything once. So yes she wouldn't mind dating Varric, even Oghren. Unless she knows Oghren is with Felsi. Lex is no home wrecker, she doesn't date anyone who in a intimate relationship. That and Lex is quite possessive, she'll just about share anything but her lover is an absolute "no".
3. Who is his/her best friend, and why?
Varric or Isabela (I won't include Anders as he is already her lover). Why? They have so many things in common. Like Friend Fiction, gossip, picking people's pockets and leaving interesting surprises like a dead mouse on a nobleman. They occasionally get together and write elaborate stories called "Friend Fiction". If not just talking about a various topic that may or may not seem relevant to a passer-by.
4. What does he/she think about Flemeth, does he/she have any theory about whom or what she truly is?
Flemeth to her is a powerful woman. One she doesn't plan on crossing, especially after Flemeth helped her. She never really cared to theorize about just what Flemeth was. Flemeth was no longer her concern the moment she fulfilled her end of the deal at Sundermount. What the witch does or will do is not her business unless it involves her and those she cares about.
5. If Alistair is still alive, what happened to him?
Alistair is very much alive and as he requested (he was hardened) King of Ferelden. Lex's encounter with him was brief thus she has no really opinions of him beyond a possible ally.
6. Did the Warden/Champion sleep with Zevran? If yes, was Isabela involved? And how was it?
Zevran was my Warden's lover. Thanks to a bug however he still offered to sleep with Hawke (which is fine my warden Amell wouldn't have minded it) . She would have turned him down even without Anders intervention. (If she won't share Anders, it's only fair that she not sleep around).
7. How did the Warden/Champion handle the "mirror" situation? Did he/she let Morrigan go? Step into the Eluvian with her? Kill her? Did he/she try to help Merrill with hers? Did her clan survive?
Yes, Lexine helped Merrill with her mirror. Since Merrill was so dedicated to it, Lex thought she might as well be there in case things go down hill. (Pun intended) Which it did.
8. What's the Warden/Champion most hated kind of darkspawn?
She dislikes all Darkspawn equally. They are all annoying. But if she must choose she hates Ogres for obvious reasons and Cory for forcing her to attack Anders.
9. What are the Warden/Champion opinions on the Maker, the Creators, the Qun, etc.? What does he/she believe in?
While Lexine believes in the Maker, she does not worship nor pray to him. In her mind, if the Maker is indeed the father. He would understand that she wanted to be the independent daughter who is old enough to think and take care of herself and her family. She does not need a god to tell her how to live, nor does she want one.
10. How did the Warden/Champion react when he/she first heard about the Calling? Did this affect him/her personally?
Refer to 10 Unnecessary Things, particularly number 8. After learning about the calling around act 2. She had more or less claimed what remaining life Anders' had for herself. Gray Wardens, Templars, heck even the Divine, would not rob her from keeping Anders by her side until he dies. And she plans on being there when does die. I did say she was possessive.
